Statement of Faith.

The Scriptures…

We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible are the word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit in such a way that they are without error in autograph, convey objective truth, and are the believer’s only infallible rule for faith and practice. (2 Pet. 3:16; 1 Tim. 5:18, Jn 10:35, Deut 4:2, 2 Pet. 1:20,21)

Holy Spirit…

We believe in the Holy Spirit’s eternal and continuing work in regeneration, sanctification, and preservation. He distributes gifts, by grace, for the empowerment of the saints. No particular spiritual gift signifies or authenticates a sincere faith. A Spirit-filled life is not a life without trials and Spiritual empowerment does not directly relate to physical health or financial well-being at this time. (1 Cor 12:28, Eph 4: 7-16, John 15:18, 2 Cor 12:7)

God…

We believe in one God who is eternally existent in three persons, namely the Father, the Son (Jesus the Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (Col 2:9, 2 Cor 13:14, Mt 28:19, 1 Cor 8:6, Acts 5:3, John 1:1)

Grace…

We believe that God is perfectly holy and just. Humankind has rebelled against God in sin, and such rebellion necessitates eternal damnation. By His grace God has provided a substitutionary atonement through the death of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Whoever believes in, follows, and accepts Christ as a substitution will experience salvation. ( Rom 6:23, Rom 3:24-26; Gal. 4:5; Eph. 1:4-5)

Jesus…

We believe that Jesus the Christ, the second person of the Trinity, is the incarnate Son of God and both true God and true man. He was conceived of the Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died willingly, and rose from the grave. (John 1, 1 Corinthians 10:1-4, John 17:5, John 8:58, Heb 4:15, John 19:30-34)

Salvation…

Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in the atonement of Jesus Christ on one’s behalf. Salvation is attained by grace apart from any human works of merit or ritual. (Eph 2:9)

The Church…

We believe that the holy Church is a collection of humans who have been related by faith in Jesus the Christ and is distinguished not by heritage, borders, nor by color but rather by unanimous confession that Jesus is Lord and has purchased us with his blood. (Rom 12:5,1 Cor 12:13)
